Third-order Intercept Point of Intermodulation Products

Abstract: Normally intermodulation products have signal to interference and noise ration because of the interferences. We have introduced a model to reflect it. We have estimated the impact of receiver’s nonlinearity on the performance of telecommunication systems. We have also studied the issues of interference created by intermodulation products which get unrelated interference signals at receivers. We found that the third order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) that could be at frequencies within working band and drive circuits into saturation causing blocking for wanted signal during the ideal frequency. Using Matlab software and nonlinear amplifier model, we have measured the practical calculations for thirdorder intercept point. With the help of the third-order input intercept point, we have proved the specification of GSM receiver and the whole exercise was carried out with the help of the Matlab.
