Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of a large number of spatially distributed autonomous devices that
collect data from wireless medium. WSN has major technology for IoT paradigm; facilitates collaboration of heterogeneous
information systems and services. Due to its distributed nature, these networks are highly vulnerable to various security
threats which adversely affect their performance. One of the major challenges associated in such network is security. Trust is
the influential factor that applies in the security of WSNs which finds its applications in cloud system, e-commerce etc. The
secure and efficient neighbor selection is an issue of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM), where many quality of
service (QoS) parameters plays an important role in the process of best neighbor selection. This paper highlights the different
QoS parameters and defines in a quantifies form. A dynamic and efficient trust model is proposed which is based on ranking
method for recommendation of appropriate secure neighbor node. As ranking method used in the paper is based on MCDM,
collecting recommendation of secure neighbor is enhanced. To rank the available neighbors, we use voting approach and
also a hybrid method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal
Solution (TOPSIS) methods. The paper also included a case study to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method which
maximizes the defence against internal attacks.
